Warth-Schröcken Tourismus - Angela Schwarzmann

Warth & Schröcken.

Two charming mountain farming villages.

Warth and Schröcken, two Walser mountain villages in Vorarlberg, are original, conscious of tradition, and shaped by the settlement of the Walser people from the Swiss canton of Valais.

The houses were built in typical Vorarlberg architecture and blend neatly into the landscape. The shingled house facades create a pleasantly warm atmosphere and make the villages particularly romantic and cozy, especially in winter.

Thanks to their altitude of 1,200 to 1,500 meters and higher, the villages and thus also the Warth-Schröcken ski area are blessed with abundant snowfall, which has led the two villages to become an important tourism region in the Arlberg area. Warth-Schröcken is therefore considered the snowiest ski area in Europe!

Warth am Arlberg is nestled idyllically at 1,500 meters above sea level, surrounded by an impressive mountain panorama.

As the highest municipality in Vorarlberg, Warth impresses with its 1,500 meters of altitude. The Walser village character of the former mountain farming village, settled by the Walser people from Switzerland in the 14th century, shapes the place both in summer and winter.

Schröcken is extremely diverse in landscape and is characterized by its scattered settlement, spread across 9 parcels (= districts). These are located on slopes and plateaus with widely scattered hamlets. The municipality stretches from Unterboden at 1,150 meters to the natural jewel of Körbersee at 1,660 meters above sea level.

Nestled amidst lush alpine meadows and shady mountain forests, Schröcken is surrounded by steep flanks in an impressive cirque. This is framed by prominent peaks such as the Juppenspitze, Mohnenfluh, Braunarlspitze, Hochberg, Rothorn, Hochkünzelspitze, and Höferspitze.
